Update

For those of you who it may have been awhile since I've done any kind of an update, I figured this would be as good a place as any to do so.

I have been doing work as a social service worker at the Division of Child and Family Services out of the Oquirrh (West Valley) office for almost six years (it will be six in September). I get to work with foster care case as well as in home cases (some with and some without court intervention as well). It definitely has it's up and down days, and, unfortunately, those down days can be much more frequent. Fortunately, I have an amazing team that helps with staffing, venting, covering, and whatever else is needed.

I also work at Build-A-Bear. I call this my car payment/sanity saving job. Most of the time the kids there are happy, with the occassional temper tantrum of wanting but not getting. The machines also have a tendency to scare some of the kids. I know it sounds bad, but that can be the most entertaining part of the job.

For the past about fourteen months, I have been able to serve as the second counselor in my ward Primary organization. We have some of the cutest kids. It can be very scary each month to stand up and do sharing time in front of them. It's hard enough learning and teaching the gospel, let alone to kids that I am pretty sure know more than I do. We have a pretty small Primary, made even smaller by inactive families and kids who split time with parents. But I absolutely love it and truly enjoy being able to be with them each week. The biggest down side is I have no idea at all who is moving in and out of our ward, unless they have kids. The way our building is set up, we don't see anyone until sacrament meeting, unless they happen to come in the door by the Primary room.

This is pretty much my life in a nutshell. In the extra time, I try to hang out with family and friends, and I am always in the middle of reading at least two or three books (I need to work on the whole one at a time thing). Keep in touch and I will try to keep up to date on this.
