Every year on the first Saturday in August, our ward from Berlin has a reunion here at Sugar House Park. One never knows for sure who is going to show or what stories will be told. This year's turnout was pretty miserable. In fact, for the first little bit, it was just three of us. While it was fun to hear about their children (who would be my age), I was ready to leave, thinking of the other things I could or should be doing. Just as I was getting ready to make my excuses and leave some more people showed up. All in all, however, there were only five families represented. Hopefully next year will be a better turn out. However, since my dad couldn't be there and he had dropped off the "Berlin binder" with all the contacts he's had, I now get to have that and do a little bit of catch up while I read that before returning it to him. (I know it's always available when I go home, but then there are other things to do.)
So, any Berliners who might read this, make plans to be at the park the first Saturday of August next year. The more the merrier.
