Memories

Do you ever just feel the need to walk down memory lane? Jen and I have done this several times. One time, we were talking about some of the differences between our grandparents. My Mom's parents, the Clarks, have always been very alive and going to their house was always an adventure. I don't know why we found it such an adventure when the cousins got together and we would jump over the "moat" in the basement, especially since now with my towering height of 5' 3" (or 4" depending on who's measuring) I'd hit my head big time, and, let's face it, I don't need any help injuring myself like doing something like this on purpose.

At the Ottley, Dad's parents, our main memories have to do with Archie comic books in the basement, although in order to get to them we had to get past the creepiest and most possessed looking doll ever. If we were really good, Grandma would let us play with the above sand thing (I don't know what it's called), which I promptly claimed, with Dad's permission, after I saw it at Mom and Dad's after Dad had cleaned out the house. When ever Grandma Ottley would play a game with us, we'd pull out the Barbie Prom Date game. It took me awhile to figure out why Grandma was always hoping she'd get Poindexter for her date - he looked just like Grandpa Ottley (red crew cut, not the most attractive glasses). Anyway, I got super excited when I found copies of this and got one for me and one for Jen (I couldn't wait to take it out and have already told Jen, so I'm not spoiling any surprises).
