Celebrating

My cousin, Kari, is having a baby girl. Fortunately, we were able to get a shower together before she decided to make her appearance. We tried to find some middle ground and had it at a park in Layton. It really was an informal gathering to celebrate something wonderful. I'm not sure if this was before, during, or after Sadie spilled her drink. She decided she didn't really want to be with the crowd for two seconds.
Watching gifts being opened. I do think eventually Sadie decided to join in with us. In the meantime, Isaac was more than willing to be cute for us.
Relaxing a little bit before the drive home. She did get some cute stuff - and lots and lots of diapers. I don't know if Regan is ready to help out of diaper duty, but I am sure she'll be a great big sister.
Pizza and treats - again they felt the need to kind of leave the crowd.
As cute as the view was from the front, it's even cuter from the back. They each took their treats and just went away to eat. It was just sweet how they stuck together.
When we get to the park, we discovered it was the first ever Annual Maize Days. Nothing says baby shower like jumping on whatever these things are called.
Mom started us all off. Definitely had to get a picture of this because I'm not sure anyone would believe me if I told them she did this otherwise.
Then it was up to Lauren. This would be mid-backflip. Doesn't she look like someone who just had a baby about four months ago.
Getting hooked up for my turn.
I did get in a couple of back flips and get a little longer turn because the operator walked off. That was a little disconcerting. I didn't realize what a workout I'd be getting, but I was sore afterwards.
I think we've decided this is the way to go for showers. It's definitely a lot more relaxed. I don't know how many more showers we have, but it was just a nice day.
