Jell-O Games

Since Jen and Will were in town, we decided to have a quick family get together.  Truth be told, I wasn't so sure I would be able to make it - then there was an email about playing Jell-O games and I knew I couldn't miss it.  I love just about any opportunity to get messy.  I missed the family dinner portion of it, but they were nice enough to save food for me.  (There's never a shortage of it.)  They started the first game without me.  Then I heard Jen telling the kids that they needed to partner with a grown up and someone choosing me.    Fortunately, I was almost done so I could partner with Miss Maya.  So she fed me the Jell-O cup blindfolded.  She gave me my first bite, which was half the cup.  But we still won.  I must admit, I felt pretty special since she asked for me.  Truthfully, I'm not always sure where I stand with her.  Shes adorable.
The grandkids doing the Jell-O version of suck and blow.    I'm not sure who won, but it was fun to watch them trying.

One of the funniest moments of the evening was when we looked over at Ryder.  Jen had set out a couple of hula hoops for one of our games.  Ryder is stronger than we realized as he was squeezing the hoop and got it to this point.  We all just had to laugh, and he really didn't know what it was we were laughing about.

The Jell-O toss.  It's amazing how long you can have the block last.

A lot of the games were done working about Tyson.  He didn't want to join in.  He just wanted to see what was going on.

There was some pretty serious tossing going on - we didn't care what it was that we were throwing.
Getting the rocks and marbles out of the Jell-O.  While I can pick things up with my toes, I wasn't so good at this game.  Ryder kept telling us he wanted to try, but he never would actually put his feet in it and Tyson just freaked out when we touched his foot to it.  He doesn't like being dirty, I'm thinking.

This was where we learned to make sure we clarify every rule.  AJ found a way around it.  And then Logan caught on and did it to, although he was much neater and got most of the Jell-O on his plate.
With all of the Jell-O that was flying, I'm not sure how this little guy managed to not get it all over him.  But he stayed clean and freaked out when he got Cool Whip on his leg, courtesy of Grandma Ottley (yes, she's still flinging Cool Whip, if you've ever had the pleasure of experiencing that - her aim is still not good.)
After the evening's events, a bath was definitely in order.  Ryder is extremely modest, apparently.  He immediately turned his back to us as soon as he got into the tub.

But, we did still get some smiles from everyone.  It was just a fun evening.  I was so glad that I made it and I was so glad everyone to be there.  (Even though, I did forget the bag I had my contacts, glasses, and make up.  I was blind for the evening, which I cared more about than the make up.  It's just not so much fun listening to the television.)
