I am officially addicted - not that it was hard to suck me in. I've been able to go to seven games this season and am looking into the possibility of season tickets, something I never thought I would do for any sport. I hate the idea of there being a game in town and me not be there, but I know there are more important things to spend my money on - like my cruise in March!Game against the New York Red Bulls on the 14th.

This game there were a lot of stupid people in the stands who could not figure out why it might be a bad idea to throw things from the stand and onto the field. Do they not realize, it distracts both teams, and could cause injury on both teams? It was kind of fun to watch the staffers trying to catch the people who were throwing the stuff. And the game from the 24th. Between sickness, BYU homecoming, work, travel, etc., I ended up having extra tickets and no one to go with. As I was leaving, thinking I'd be going by myself (not sure if it's sad, stupid, brave, confident, desperate, or what), I decided to try my neighbor. Julie was nice enough to join me and we even made it to the game in time for the national anthem.
So I swiped pictures from Deseret News. They have much better equipment than the camera on my cell phone!
Robbie Findley had an amazing game - two goals! Out of the three that were scored.
Celebrating with his teammate - I actually have a really hard time with #16. Every game he's down on the field at least once fighting and injury and it feels like he's never where he's supposed to be. I will give him credit though, when he is where he's supposed to be, he can be really good.
Getting ready for the half-time huddle.
And then the actual huddle.
Nick Rimando doing a great save. The Rapids didn't score at all tonight. He had some great saves. In the goal with him would be Kyle Beckerman and Nat Borchers.
With tonight's win, we won the Rocky Mountain cup for the third year in a row. I'm not sure who else is in on this cup, but I know Colorado is and apparently Beckerman has been on the winning team all five years of it's existence. (If you can figure out that math, he's been in Salt Lake for three years.)
Nat Borchers (so is it bad that the first time he was on the field, when I didn't know his name, all I could think was "run, white boy, run!" He just looked so out of place with his Hispanic and black teammates as well as Beckerman's dreads.) took the cup around to the fans. He halfway around the field before staff grabbed him to get him ready for autograph alley.
When he got in front of us, he was moving kind of fast so it was hard to get a picture from the front.

This was a must win game for us and the play offs. But it wasn't just that we needed to win. Again from the Deseret News: "New York beat Toronto FC 5-0, Kansas City tied D.C. United 2-2 and Seattle beat FC Dallas 2-1. The combination of the three was good enough for RSL to secure its second straight playoff berth."
So now we have our playoff game on Halloween night here in Salt Lake. I'm not exactly sure who we are playing. I know it's either the #1 or #2 seat. Again, I am trying to find someone to go with me, but the fact that it's Halloween and people want to go out with their little ones and apparently the U has a game at the same time, it could be interesting.
GO REAL!!!!!
