We got to the pumpkin patch and was informed they didn't open to the general public until four. There were a lot of kids there because of school trips. Mom let them know she was there from Cache Valley and they took pity on us and let us join in. (And for any die hard Twilight fans, this place in Syracuse has Team Edward and Team Jacob corn mazes.)
Logan getting ready to go into the activities. He was pretty excited and ready to party. He remembered it from when Mom brought him last year.
We attempted the stroller, but I am pretty sure it was giving out baby whiplash as we went across the fields. For whatever reason, that leg stayed up the whole time. I know she was able to bend it because every now and then she would dance in her seat, but when she was being still, the leg was up. No matter how bumpy the ride.
It's just cool. I don't have the time, talent, or patience to even attempt this, so I just admire it.
Logan bypassed everything else to go to the slide. He was pretty excited about getting the chance to do this again.
Climbing up to the top. This would be where Mom tried to follow him up last year, got her shoe caught, and fell. Logan was completely oblivious to her little adventure. This year, she didn't even attempt it. And, neither did I. Good thing he was able to do it on his own!
Taking time out for a quick pose for me.
The landing at the tube slide. They really didn't set it up so you had much choice but to land on your bum.
I took Brooklyn up and we went down with Logan. Even when you zoom in on her face, you can tell how impressed she was. But after the adventure of being pushed across the bumpy lawn, this was a really smooth ride - and she was probably just thrilled to get out of the stroller and her leg was probably tired from holding it up.
Tire playground. Logan left me standing in line for the bouncer so he could run over and make sure he wasn't missing any fun that Brooklyn was doing.
The little kids behind him just packed him into the line. I was pretty impressed with how patient he was while waiting. It was not a particularly fast moving line.
Who ever the little girl behind him really started watching out for him and trying to protect him from the kids shoving behind them. She also made sure the coast was clear before and after he got out of the jumper. Again, Logan was a bit oblivious what was going on, but Mom and I thought it was pretty sweet.
Once in the jumper. I think this one was a little harder than he thought it would be.
But he did get a few good jumps in before their time was up - they let them in three at a time.
We timed the train ride just right. Logan was actually able to ride it twice in a row. He really liked this little cow car. When the driver told them the instructions he listened very carefully and made sure he was following all of the rules. The driver then yelled, "Ready!" Logan's response, "I think I am ready!"
While it would have been fun to have Brooklyn ride the train as well, we were pretty sure she'd just try to climb out and it wouldn't be very safe. So we set her on top of the hay bails and took pictures instead.
The drumming area was a hit for both of our little kids. There were bells...
drums set...
triangle... (yep, she got Grandma right in the sunglasses. And Grandma didn't even see it coming - everyone else around could predict it, but that's beside the point)
more bells...
She would have been happy here for a lot longer then we stayed. Big brother needed to move on.
Picking out Brooklyn's pumpkin from the patch. He chose his before Brooklyn and I got out of the trailer, but he was very particular about hers. It was fun trying to get a picture while she tried to get the camera - that would be her little hand in the corner.
Entrance/exit. We had to get a final picture before we left. And the picture had to be taken quick before Brooklyn picked all of the flowers!
Lunch at Burger King. Logan showing off his big muscles.
So tired! She had to rest for just a second.
She was really being super sweet and cute. She wasn't eating the table, just leaning on it - at least for these two seconds.
I set her down before sticking her in her car seat - and this was Mom's view from the back. We had to switch places to get the picture.
The final activity of the day - at least before I had to leave - was making sugar cookies and decorating them. Mom cut; Logan put them on the tray.
He took his job very seriously. He was so cute about it. He had to make sure everything was just perfect - in his mind. It really was a great day and I was so glad I got the invitation. It doesn't take much to convince me it's a good idea to hang out with the family.
