Open Cup

The US Open Cup has never been a good tournament for RSL, but in reality, they did not show up tonight.  One player actually said he was embarrassed by their play and Coach Kreis stated he wouldn't want to be playing for him right now.  I couldn't have agreed more.  I guess, on the plus side they got to rest, but actually Coach Kreis worked them hard over their would be break, rightfully so.  I won't even begin to give the list of possible excuses because that's all they would be, excuses.

The looks say it all, don't they?

Luis Gil did score our one goal.  (I still have a hard time believing he's only eighteen and already in his third season as a professional.  I am pretty sure he's had a growth spurt since joining us.)

Of course, there always has to be some kind of disagreement going on.

So we're out of this tournament, on a break (although four of our players were off playing with respective National Teams) from MLS play, and I went through a little bit of soccer withdrawal.
