Day 2 in Chicago

Our second day we just kind of chose how we wanted to spend our time. Unfortunately, the Frank Lloyd Wright House I would have really liked to see was a little bit too far out of the way to do in the time we had. We did go to the Museum of Science and Technology (which is probably not what the actually the actual name of it, but it sounds pretty close).
I thought this screen was really fun. I did get in on the action , but didn't get a picture of it - really smart, I know.
Who wouldn't jump at the chance to make their parents into fools?
The outside of the smart house.
It actually pretty cool.
A German submarine, U-505. Apparently it was captured, taken on tour, and sent to rest in Chicago. Initially, I didn't believe it was the real deal, but I was proven wrong.
I separated by choice and went to find the fairy tale miniature house, which was very cool, but the lighting made pictures next to impossible to get any good pictures of it.
This is pretty much the best I could do - things didn't get better without the flash.
Or, maybe just a little. The other pictures are pretty dark so I won't make you look at them.
I enjoyed walking down the old town main street.
I would actually wear these even today.
Although I am really glad that I don't have to do up all of the contraptions that would have been required to wear these.
Cool mailbox.
I think this is where they would tether the horses, but couldn't say for sure.
Their cool movie theater. They had an old silent movie going on, which was kind of fun to watch for a second.
There is a sign in the window that says Corset shop and yet, there was a lady with some younger girls looking at them who said "look at the pretty dresses." I didn't want to explain that it was actually the underwear, but that's just my take on things.
So glad this is not what going to the dentist now entails.
It just looks super scary.
Such cute little chicks.
And watching them hatch - that has got to be a huge struggle.
This little guy worked so hard to get out and then landed on his back. It was pretty sad to see.
The start of breaking through.

At AJ's request, we went back to Ed Debevic's for lunch - where I unintentionally got her in trouble by sending a text calling her a brat - only because that's what the waitress kepi calling her.
But doesn't she look so great in her double hat look.
I ordered a chili dog - and got a meal for two, maybe even more. It was absolutely huge.
Close up - needless to say I am not sure if I even finished a fourth of it.
We did get to watch the performance of them dancing on the counter to "Shake a Tail Feather."
Looks so excited doesn't he.
Watch the moves.

After that we went up the Willis (formerly called the Sears) Tower. You get to ride up to the 103rd floor. While, admittedly, the views were incredible, this was not the most comfortable experience for me. I was very relieved when we got back to the ground.

Sending AJ, Mom and Dad out to the glass boxes. I was absolutely thrilled to be the photographer and not go out.

The evening ended with dinner at Scott and Sandy's again. And, we got to experience a tornado warning. Sirens went off and we calmly herded the kids to the basement, where we further tortured them by watching the weather channel to see what was going on in our situation. Fortunately, we didn't experience any funnels, but I can now say that it was an experience I don't get to experience too often.
