Leave for Chicago

I was so very ready to be going on a vacation. This year for our family reunion various members traveled to Chicago for a few days there before going to Nauvoo. I'd never been to either place (other than the airport and train station), so it was fun to have that adventure ahead of me.

Bright and early this morning, or what felt like it anyway, I loaded up my car to drive to Mom and Dad's. They were nice enough to keep my car in their garage. I definitely didn't repay them the way I should have when I backed into their Highlander and did some damage with my mirror, which was just fine and didn't even move. Needless to say, I was grounded from driving during the trip - I can't say that I minded.

We picked up Miss AJ and we were on our way out. We made it to Ogallala, NE before stopping. This was our chosen destination because AJ thought it sounded like a fun place to stay. Right before you enter there, you drive past the worst smelling cow pasture possibly in the world. It actually burned your lungs to try to breathe. And it lingered with you. But we had a bed and AJ and I swam in the cold pool for awhile before calling it a night.AJ managed to maneuver herself into what she thought were comfortable positions to sleep and relax in.
Trying to hide from the camera.
Bugging Grandma, or as her dad called it, the worst game of hide and seek ever.
