So things at work have been going and going. I assume most people can say that. This month was extra special for me, apparently, and I received the Employee of the Month recognition for my office. Which meant I got this:
And this:
My supervisor, Angela, wrote up a pretty nice write up:
"At learning group today Wendy Ottley was named the Employee of the Month. Wendy has been with DCFS just shy of 10 years. Her experience in the field has made her an asset to the team as a resource and a support. Several current foster parents have called to say how much they enjoy working with Wendy and how they appreciate her personal connection to "their" children. Wendy had gone above and beyond in fostering positive relationships with children on her caseload, even taking them to soccer games. Wendy has been able to work well with parents and help them feel a part of the planning process for children in the State Hospital, and has worked to bring permanency to children who have been in limbo due to their parents' district court involvement. Wendy continues to do all this with a high caseload and no overdues! Wend is an asset to our team and to the building. Thank you Wendy for your great work!"
In other, not related news, I received news this week that I was selected for the promotion that I got it. I get to start in a new office on a new team on the 30th. I am super excited about that. I love change and love it even more when I am semi-in charge of it (meaning I chose to apply, but I didn't get to choose who they hired).
