Whoops

So, for those of you who are actually nearby and reading this, I have to apologize. I've been feeling not at all good this week and have had no voice again. I blame allergies, but I figured since this is the second time within less than six months that this has happened I should have it checked out. So I wen to the doctor Tuesday and left thinking my doctor was a bit of an idiot. It was a little bit concerning that he didn't ask me about any medications I was taking and then asked if I wanted to be put on more of them (the answer will always be no). He did the rapid strep test which came back negative and then also did the culture. Today, I got the message that the strep culture test came back positive and they are calling in an antibiotic. While it's good to be aware about it and be able to treat it, I am feeling really bad that I've exposed so many other's to it. I did my research (since I've never been told I have strep) and found out that without an antibiotic you can be contagious for two to three weeks and with an antibiotic you're only considered contagious for 24-hours. So now that I know, there go any of my Halloween plans or tonight. I had to call my friend and cancel going to a dance. It's one thing to expose people when you don't know, but something completely different to be irresponsible and expose once you know.

So for anyone that I unwittingly exposed (all my co-workers (and their children since yesterday was our Halloween party) at both jobs, people at Wal-mart, and in the early voting line - and here I thought I was being a responsible citizen), I'm so sorry if you get sick!
