Eventually we did make it to Williamsburg.
Entry in front the visitor's center.
Map of Colonial Williamsburg. I do realize that it's a little bit difficult to see.
The jail at Williamsburg. You couldn't hold too many people at once.
Not sure what this house was, but isn't it cute.
The Parliament building.
Anyone for a carriage ride?
Working on sewing outside while it's light out and the weather is nice.
The armory. I know it's just the wood of the fence, but it so looks like rifles make the fence.
Also don't know for sure what this one was, but it looks either like a school house or church to me. Or maybe it was the courthouse, where we learned where the phrase passing the bar came from. In colonial times, only attorneys could go in front of the bar to speak to the Judge. The witnesses had to stay behind the bar.
A fancier carriage ride.
Time to pause for a picture.
Could you imagine locking up the house with this each morning and having to carry around that key?
Man in full colonial regalia. Also glad I don't have to worry about getting dressed up in any of these outfits each morning.
The Governor's Palace. We didn't go inside any of the buildings this time, but they do have a great rifle design on top of the ceiling.
The wishing well.
My turn. I don't think I actually took advantage and made a wish.
We found another well this time. They keep the buckets nailed down so you can't do a whole lot more.
Window to the church.
Just thinking.
Perfect height for relaxing.
The Church house.
On our way out. It's a perfect posing tree.
It actually wasn't the most uncomfortable place we stopped to pose.
Jen kept saying she was going to try hanging upside down in one of our tree pictures. This is the closest she got.
I didn't even try. Granted, then I would have had my shirt over my hear, which is not a good thing and defeats the purpose of showing off, or attempting to anyway. We also stopped in the Williamsburg Christmas store. I found the most beautiful flute ornament! I had to get it. (And then I actually took my flute to get it re-corked so I can actually tune it - when I got home.)
