So simple

This is seriously one of the simplest things I have cooked in a long time. I looked at the ingredients and figured I like all of them individually and it didn't sound like it would be a bad combination when put together. Fortunately I was right about that. This comes from the Deseret Recipes Cookbook.

Hardy Chowder

1. Fry until crisp . . . . 2 slices bacon
2. Remove from skillet, drain, and crumble,
3. To the bacon fat in the skillet add . . . . 1/2 cup chopped onion
4. Cook until tender (about 5 minutes).
5. Blend in . . . . . 1 can tomato soup
1 soup can milk
1 can cream-style corn (1 1/4 cups)*
6. Simmer 5 minutes, put into serving dishes, and garnish with the crumbled bacon.

*If cream-style corn is not available, use 1 cup whole kernel corn, slightly mashed, and combine 1 tablespoon flour and 1/4 cup liquid from the corn. Blend this into the milk.

Yield: 2 or 3 servings.
